Evidence suggests that nicotinamide (Vitamin B3) supplements can reduce the development of non-melanoma skin cancer in high-risk patients. It may be a useful adjunct to sun protection for non-melanoma skin cancer prevention in patients at high risk (ie. patients with previous skin cancers).
A simple oral dose of an active form of vitamin B3 (nicotinamide) may be the secret to stopping people with significant sun damage from developing some forms of skin cancer.
New research from the University of Sydney (2015) has found that a high dose of vitamin B derivative nicotinamide can prevent up to a quarter of non-melanoma skin cancers.
Dermatologist Dr Michael Freeman from the Gold Coast University Hospital is one of many medical professionals who have been using nicotinamide with their patients for years. He described the study as definitive proof that nicotinamide can help with skin cancer.
The recommended dosage of Nicotinamide is 500mg twice daily, indefinitely.
