Daylight PDT

Suncity Skin Cancer Clinic is proud to announce the introduction of Daylight PDT.  This revolutionary treatment offers many benefits over regular PDT and allows us to pass on substantial cost savings to all our patients.

Daylight PDT is used for the treatment of sunspots and large areas of sun damage all over the body.  It involves the application of a safe photoactive solution to damaged areas of skin for a short period of time.  The solution is absorbed into these damaged cells only and is then activated by visible light from the sun.  This produces a chemical reaction that destroys the damaged skin cells, leaving normal cells relatively unaffected.

A pre-treatment period with skin products is advised. This will reduce the roughness of the skin and thus allow better penetration of the photoactive solution when it is applied.  Visible light will also penetrate significantly better with this pre-treatment regime.

Daylight PDT requires ambient light from the sun to work.  It can be performed on sunny days and even cloudy days.  However if it is raining it is more problematic but we have an alternative way of treating the skin if this were to occur.  In this case we use a large light source to activate the treated skin.  Your skin health therapist will discuss this alternate treatment with you if it is raining on the day of your procedure.

It is never too late to repair your skin!

Traditional PDT

Traditional PDT is used for the treatment of sunspots and large areas of sun damage all over the body. The treatment is done within the clinic using our superior technology to illuminate the skin with specific wavelengths of light.  It involves the application of a safe photoactive solution to damaged areas of skin for a short period of time.  The solution is absorbed into these damaged cells only and is then activated by our lighting system.  This produces a chemical reaction that destroys the damaged skin cells, leaving normal cells relatively unaffected.  This non-invasive procedure is called photo rejuvenation.

The san diego chiropractors advice to take skin products in pre-treatment period. This will reduce the roughness of the skin and thus allow better penetration of the photoactive cream when it is applied.  Light produced by our lighting system will also penetrate significantly better with this pre-treatment regime.

Traditional PDT requires ambient light produced by our technology in order to work.
